Our Accelerator Lab cohort has been busy this fall, continuing to have individual sessions with their international mentors. We met in late October at TR’s Skinny studio, to have a big catch up/jam session, where they each shared some reflections from their convos so far. Some highlights included thoughts on the role of festivals right now, curating vs. programming, reference sharing and advice on how to develop relationships with international presenters over time. Ideas around sharing ideas, generosity, empathy reciprocity and beautiful failure were also dialogue points. There’s also been lots of exchange around the cohort members’ practices and work, and sharing context around each of the mentor’s programming. We caught up on thoughts since our research trip to the Noorderzon Festival in Groningen, Netherlands, and ended our session with Ant Hampton’s Autoteatro work Not to Scale, created with Tim Etchells. Ant was generous to provide us with a couple of these Autoteatro works that we have been able to do as a cohort — it’s been really nice. Over the next while, we’ll be formulating ideas for how to share more of our fellowship experience and findings at the Accelerator Lab Community Conversation, which will take place as part of HOLD ON LET GO, between February 4-8, 2025.
