Winners and Losers

WInners and Losers
is a highly personal and thoroughly competitive performance predicated on the actual co-existence of theatre artists James Long and Marcus Youssef.

Long and Youssef sit at a table and play a game of their own devising, called Winners and Losers. The game involves naming people, places or things — Tom Cruise, microwave ovens, Pamela Anderson, the rainforests, the First Nations, Stephen Hawking, capitalism, etc. — and then debating whether these subjects are winners or losers. The debates quickly shift to discussions of their individual, familial and class histories — one man being a product of economic privilege, and the other not.
