BIOBOXES: Artifacting Human Experience is a collection of short, bilingual one-person shows for one person audiences that take place in a very intimate theatre: a box worn on the actor's shoulders. Through an interview process with first generation Canadians, six artists of diverse backgrounds have created tiny shows that can be performed in both English and another respective language, including French, Japanese, Cantonese, Italian, Serbo-Croation and German. Originally co-produced by the High Performance Rodeo & Theatre Replacement.

“...with these six exquisite pieces, Theatre Replacement proves once again that it is one of the most intelligent and generous players in Vancouver’s robust scene.”
-The Georgia Straight

“BIOBOXES blew my brain wide open. I go to plays over a hundred times a year yet its not often that I feel I’ve seen something that has made me think really fundamentally about how theatre works or what 'theatre' ultimately might be. This was one of those rare shows.”
-Vancouver Province
